Sorry guys I have a different opinion here. If only everybody worked like AAM “athletes were accommodated at AAM General Secretary Frank Chitembeya’s house” Malawi would be miles ahead. He offered athletes his house. And yet nobody sees anything good here. This is an association that is at the very bottom of the country’s priorities. We favour football which dis-performs so poorly each time they go out, and whose association FAM embezzles funds regularly, rigs its elections, etc etc. I say bravo to AAM. The athletes have gained experience and next time they will bring medals.

What do you expect for athletics association with the leadership of the Phiri and Chitemebya? Mr Jana, Your should be expecting these more surprises from this leadership. The problem with sports administration in Malawi is greed, the administrators as with politicians wants to pocket first for themselves before putting the interests of the sports men and women at heart.

Its indeed embarrassing that the Athletics had to travel such a long distance and unfortunately you expect them to win when you have exposed them to harsh conditions.

This must be the problem with Department of Sports and Malawi National Council of Sports with Malawi Olympic Committee for just staying Phwii. They do not even regulate the code of conducts of the people in the National Sports Associations. Honestly speaking, national sports associations are not there to develop sports but to extort and ill treat athletes. This must stop if Malawi is to develop and win medals and cups in sports.

Thanks Malawi Olympic Committee and Sports Council for the little you gave. It was timely given. Thanks also to former Likuni Boys Secondary School Sports Prefect, Oscar Kanjala, currently MOC President but come and witness Bua Hostel battling in a volleyball house game against Rukuru Hostel next week!!
