Malawian blogger says calling for JB’s resignation ‘misplaced’
A vocal Malawian blogger, Pearson Nkhoma, who recently called for the resignation of Justice Minister Ralph Kasambara and has been critical of the People’s Party led administration, has trashed calls for ouster of President Joyce Banda over economic turmoil.
Malawi is facing public workers indefinite strike, affecting nearly all government departments and airports have been forced to shut down.
Some individuals have taken the opportunity to call for the resignation President Banda, the first female Head of State for the southern African nation.
“I consider such calls unrealistic, undemocratic, costly and highly misplaced,” he wrote.

“ Of course, I know that most of my friends will now question my stand (and rightly or wrongly so). They will think I have been given chi banzi. I have no control over your perspective regarding my stand. I only have control over my opinion.
His articles reads in part that if President Banda goes, “are we sure that our MPs, Ministers, or the Judiciary are sober enough to come up with a government (of national unity) which will put the needs of Malawians at the centre of their leadership? My answer is a very big NO.
Nkhoma is a PhD in Sociology and Social Policy student at Durham University in United Kingdom.
The controversial blogger ‘s writing earned online journalist Justice Mponda an arrest and the scribe was acquitted recently after the court learnt the real author of the libelous stories was Nkhoma.
