Malawian held in major drug bust at Beitbridge identified: Adellaide Migogo

An Malawian lady arrested at Beitbridge boarder post in South Africa on Tuesday for smuggling drugs worth R17 million has been identied as Adellaide Migogo (pictured).

Nyasa Times confirmed with Limpompo Police in South Africa who verified that identity of Migogo, saying she works at a company called Favour Fashions and cosmetics.

According to The South African Revenue Service (Sars) the crystal cocaine was found hidden in a bag of surgical equipment belonging to Migogo  travelling between Malawi and Johannesburg.

Sars spokesperson Marika Muller said the suspect was arrested.

“The passenger and the drugs she was carrying, as well as the containers in which the drugs had been hidden in were handed over to the South African Police Service at Beitbridge.”

She is being kept at Limpopo police and will be prosecuted.
