Malawian receives Young African Achiever award: James Woods

The prestigious awards were held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa and it proved to be a star studded event with Nollywood stars, South African and other Africa celebrities, musicians, key African political figures, entrepreneurs, policy makers and business leaders. The awards drew participants from over 36 African countries.

James Woods was given the Young African Achiever award in the Change Maker category where over 1500 people had been nominated.

He was recognised for his continued and outstanding work in and around the African continent as young man influencing the world around him and championing initiatives to develop Africa.

James received the award in person and dedicated it to Malawi and all those who continue to fight for a better Africa.

Other winners on the night included President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete who was given the male Excellence in Leadership award; Chairperson of the African Union H.E. Dlamini-Zuma was given the Excellence in Leadership award in the female category; One Campaign Africa team won organisation of the year.

Congratulations James! This is a young man who has worked with global billionaires such as Mo Ibrahim the man who brought mobile communications to Africa, he has even worked on the B-Group founded by Richard Branson of Virgin and numerous other Billionaires. Has worked with Former and Current heads of state on communications.
