Today in a Hong Kong prison, I had a one hour chat with Estina. Conditions in the prison are excellent – see my comment of 4 days ago. Estina was tricked and coerced by Nigerian men in Lilongwe and Nairobi to take drugs to Hong Kong in boxes of chocolates. Estina is innocent, but she needs evidence to prove her innocence. She will write her story of what happened and I hope to post it here and on my daily blog http://www.v2catholic.com in a couple of weeks. Estina is bravely adapting to detention. Her Christian faith is giving her courage.… Read more »

If she transported drugs then she is not innocent. She is old enough to know right and wrong. Why didn’t she report to authorities if Nigerians and Kenyans coersed her? It’s looks like she is a willing participant.

So sad development and again we must not force ourselves to become rich on dangerous means. We can still live a happily life without money. We must always avoid to being used with these drug dealers. Why don’t they send their children and relatives to these businesses?Let us ask ourselves this question.

Estina is not in China. She is in Hong Kong where there is no death penalty … just a long prison sentence. I received a letter from her today (Aug 30). I will try to visit her on September 4. I will ask her to write a message for this column to let people know she is ok. I will try to post the article on September 5. She is well and safe and in good conditions. Prisons in HK are among the best in the world: no violence, no drugs, a professional staff, free meals, free clothing, free medicine,… Read more »

Thanks John for clarification and good work you do. May God bless you really! We wish all victims who do this for money. Most of them are carried over by the mere fact of wanting to fly to a foreign country. Their own family escort them to the airport wishing they return one day. Sad that innocent women go through this really!

It’s like you’re glomourizing what she has done and that it’s Okey bcz the prisons are cushy and all comfortable she’ll be divaling around in there. This sort of talk will encourage others to try these stupid risks and think oh I’ll try my luck in Hong Kong. Just stop! Such Nonsense need not be encouraged!!

Is she really a Malawian? we have many Malawians who are not Malawians, ask Uladi Mussa when he was a Minister of Home affair. If indeed she is a Malawian, where is she coming from?

We are all, but human. We error at one point or the other, We can be clean because we are not caught. I have my passion for this lady. Saving her life is my hope and joy. Because God is slow to anger and quick to forgive, may she receive forgiveness from Jehovah God and from the people of China.
