Aid is just hush-money, paid to keep us quiet about the evils perpetrated upon our forefathers by imperialists. The modern descendants of these imperialists are happy to accept the lies their historians tell them about the benign British Empire. The truth is that the great-grandchildren of the freedom-snatchers, land-grabbers, culture-tramplers, and soul-crushers of rampant colonialism have a lot more to expiate than they realize. When you bite the hand that heals you, it hurts only when that hand is your own. That hand should be our own – and would be if successive corrupt regimes had not misappropriated the health… Read more »

Is it only Malawi? Why are you using unacceptable language here? You mean during Hastings Banda time health services were financed by govt only? And for your information what is SKC doing in UK? addressing all categories of people there. He is trying to buy favours from them. Kwame Nkrumah said after Ghana became independent that Africa will never be independent economically. And why are you castigating Bakili here? Can your father match him? Let your father contest for the presidency.

As far as priority expenditures are concerned, this government is failing and if you look at support from donors it is clearly we are at the mercy of donors and we thank the donors for their support.

Shame shame indeed. At 52 years of independence we are only allocating 25% of funding to the heath sector and spending billions on state residences, some of which are hardly used. Spend millions on large presidential convoys,.Budgeting on bunqouet halls etc when our medical institutions are crumbling. The heath of a nation, should be among the top priorities of a good government. Kamuzu built nice hospitals almost every district. Today, those hospitals are dilapidated. There is no maintenance. Basic supplies for patients like bedding, are not there. let alone medicines. Patients bring their own bedding. Mr minister, take an announced… Read more »

Malawi has been destroyed by 2 families. The Muluzis and Muntharikas. DPP and UDF should not have a place in Malawi. They need to go. Malawi is not poor. We cannot continue depending on donations. Rich countries have donated in Malawi but nothing has changed. The money goes into a baseless bucket channelled to politician pockets. There is money in Malawi. Politians who were poor are now billionaires and their wealth cannot be explained. There is no accountability. The President is aware of how corrupt the parastatals are abusing the finances and he opts to keep quiet that explain a… Read more »

Isn’t this what everyone is crying about. Our ministers were Gucci suits while presiding over hospitals that can’t even afford a decent meal for their patients. Are you surprised? This country is a sham. Too many dishonest people in high places
