Man becomes instant millionaire after winning lottery
National Lottery Group (NLG) are creating Malawi millionaires. One of them is Blantyre based businessman Ndaona Lyson who become an instant millionaire after winning the MK1, 003,912.00 prize in Lotto 6/36 draw.
Ndaona said he screamed with excitement after winning the jackpot.
“I was so excited,” said Ndaona who did two entries for the fourth draw.
Other lucky winners were Justice Chimgondo, a research fellow based in Lilongwe, Cyprus Gwaza who works for Malawi Revenue Authority in Mzuzu and Henry Kalanje Chibwe of Blantyre.
Gwaza bought ten entries in the third draw and scooped the third prize cutting home with MK526, 626.
Lilongwe-based Chimgonda who bought 15 entries won the second prize in the Secondary Chance of the third draw and pocketed MK500 000.
Chibwe, an airtime seller in Blantyre managed to win a motorbike in the Secondary Chance of the fourth draw. Chibwe had bought ten tickets.
The fifth draw was conducted on Friday, 10 people were winner of MK100 000.
Malawi National Lottery CEO, Allen Cheng, said his company decided to give out the k100, 000 to ten people as “a new year’s present.”
The grand prize winner will walk away with K10 million (about $59,880).
Tickets for ‘Lotto 6/36 and Scratch N’Win are selling at K100 each.
The scratch cards are sold in all Malawi Posts Corporation agencies throughout the country and Chipiku stores.
NLG was awarded a licence to operate lotto in the country from 2011 to 2016.
