Mandiza quits as Nyasa Bullets secretary general: Chande joins Nomads

Titha Mandiza has resigned as Nyasa Big Bullets secretary general bowing to pressure to quit the Sam Chilunga-led executive committee.

Mandiza resignation comes after former treasurer Noel Lipipa and former vice chairman Sidik Malinga resigned.

“I have resigned as it is clear we are not pulling in one direction,” said Mandiza.

“I should not be seen as if I am clinging to the position. I am not bitter but cannot allow being party to kangaroo football administration,” she said, adding”the truth will one day come out. Unfortunately, it will be a bit too late.”

Part of her resignation letter addressed to the team’s board of trustees chairperson James Busile reads: “After much thought and consideration, I have decided not to continue as GS of Nyasa Big Bullets. I want to thank you for providing me an opportunity to serve the team.”

Bullets vice-general secretary Kelvin Moyo said the club regrets all the resignations.

Vice-treasurer Alex Gondwe is also facing resignation calls but is yet to announce his move.

The club sponsors, cigarette manufacturers Nyasa gave Bullets seven days to sort out their infighting or lose their K500 million sponsorship.

Chande off to Nomads

Meanwhile, Bullets midfielder-cum-striker Jaffalie Chande was reported to have joined rivals Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.

But Bullets insisted the player’s contract runs through August and that there is no deal with Nomads.

Moyo said Wanderers did not follow procedures.

“Every season Wanderers does that. They are fond of poaching from Bullets. This season they have done the same,” he said.

“The player’s contract is expiring in August. So, basically, he has four months remaining before his contract expires.”

Wanderers welcomed the player with caution.

About Chande he has made his choice but one thing I know is that he will regret his choice, ambitious players who want to play professional football know that the gateway to that dream is through BB fact.
