Malume, Dealing with delapidated roads in Malawi will require much more than just reparation. It also requires change on government policy on two fronts: a) passenger buses (particularly minibuses) b) heavy goods vehicles. During Dr. Banda era, heavy goods were transported viable water transport and railway. The Kasungu – Lilongwe road was not, therefore, designed for big tracts that you see carrying fuel from Tanzania via Kasungu today.
