The Mias are donating like this (and this is only the beginning) for votes basi, and they can get all that money back within one month of getting access to Account ONE. Fortunately, oChakwera is, once again, destined for bridesmaid status next year; and the donation is done, for good.
And, oh, also I almost forgot: the Mias are doing this to counteract the open criticism they have been getting on the net, since Mia, the man, re-entered politics. Via MCP, no less.

I would want to see a clean Malawian who will make a donation to any church without making any noise. I would want to see a Malawian not politically connected who will assist a church or any institution without looking for favours in return. I would want to see a silent giver. This is the type of Malawian I want.

It is the Quran. Not the Bible. In Egypt, Muslims are warned not to receive gifts from Christians. In turn Christians face reprisals for making any donations to Muslims. In the Chikwawa scenario, the gift has strings attached, and such gifts has its ramifications. Lebanon in the Middle East is a classic example. Chikwawa Diocese, check that.
