So taxpayers had to foot accommodation and transport bill for all district council officials from the 28 districts of the country to witness the’launch’ of this meaningless scheme. Tell me how much was spent in allowances and wasted time? Tell me how much will an ordinary Malawian benefit from this’investment’?

The government is talking of reforms. This is a classic example to demonstrate that they are not walking the talk! Dr Chilima should actually summon the minister to reprimand him for embarrassing him personally, and also contradicting government policies!

A good move but this should not b done only to the councillors but to all civil servants. Our neigbours Mozambique has teachers with bikes and cars why not Malawi?

This a mockery of highest order, does it require the whole cabinet minister to launch a loan at this age? This is a waste of resources, does one want to score a political mileage? Malawi needed to move out of this mess
