It is not about birth control, Atupele. It should be about empowering women to make choices. It should be about giving girls quality education and work/livelihood opportunities. The rest will follow, once we have women’s empowerment. ICPD (Cairo 1994) already changed this population control narrative.

It’s both – women empowerment and birth control. But to tackle this men are key since Malawi is culturally a patriarchal society. Poverty among these large in rural area is disheartening

one of the problems facing birth control rate in Malawi is that most of njira zakulera has brought in more healthy complication to most of our women, ena period its continous due to ma pills, ena has developed different problems, and i believe as a country we need more research on this issue. even medical personnel know about of this issue and if one had experienced such situations uthenga omwe amapereka kwa anzawo umapangitsanso some people to have reservations
