When I was a university student at Chanco I used to think the world revolved around us. How naive! These university students are a non entity. Most of them haven’t even been outside Malawi so they know little about the world apart from theories they read in old books at UNIMA. Unfortunately, they’re the future of our country and they’re being taught primitive politics from a tender age. Shame!

I have always argued that the biggest risk in Malawi’s politics is the state of our youth. In pre and post independence, the colonialists, missionaries and political have designed a deliberate social system to produce the most useless, unintelligent, unemployable and delinquent youths who are ripe for political manipulation. The youthful population (made of 65% of the population) should have been its biggest asset but now it is its biggest liability and a risk to democracy. There is no sense for the president to use youth in political issues. This is like giving them the way to hello. Mtharika i ndeed is tired with politics is time for us to remove him with free and fare election coming ahead 2019.
