Mizaya to hold Easter shows in aid of disadvantaged kids

Mizaya: Shows for charity

One of the celebrated gospel songbirds in the country, Chimwemwe Mizaya is expected to entertain Christians during Easter on April, 2012 at Shaefer Marquee Hall in Lilongwe’s Area 14 and the show will be from 12 noon to 5.30.

Mizaya said: “We would like to offer some real celebration to our fans as we rejoice over the great sacrifice that Christ offered to mankind over 2000 years ago.”

She said part of the money which the show will raise will go towards a charitable organization in Lilongwe called Onesimus.

“The Easter season being a time when we acknowledge the amazing work that was accomplished on that Calvary cross, part of the proceedings of the show will go towards a charity called Onesimus, a home for street kids and is located along Mchinji road in the outskirts of the City of Lilongwe,” said Mizaya.

Quizzed on why she thought to be part of the artists of the show, Mizaya said she want to make a difference to less privileged children.

“It gives me so much joy to be part of the celebration because apart from rejoicing over the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we have another opportunity to make a difference to the less privileged in the name of Onesimus Charitable Organization. Making a difference to those that are not privileged as we are is what the Lord has mandated us to do,” she says.

The artists of the day will include: Grace Chinga, Rev. Chimwemwe Mhango, Roy Kwelepeta, George Misinde, Lamech Soko, David Kalilani, and the Zero to Hero crew.

Some of the sponsors of the event are Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS), Channel of all Nations (CAN), and Debonairs.
