There is nothing wrong with the Bloc, all these MPs were voted and they are representing people. My plea is that the members should put selfishness aside, humble themselves and focus on the right agenda. Kamlepo has always been instrumental, Frank Mwenefumbo is a great guy, Richard msowoya, Nyalonje, Ralph Muhone is smart….the team is a strong force whether one likes it or not. I hope Khumbo will not conive this time around and the same applies for Mzomera. Harry Mkandawire seems constructive and focused these days. Mganda Chiume seems feeble but he should realise parties like DPP and MCP… Read more »

Mwazisi, Cheyo & Machiavelli, Thanks, countrymen, for your kind words. Look, countrymen, I personally feel that Malawians can begin to move together as a nation rather than “dealing with each other” like we often do on this forum. Let’s face it, the time that we spend posting our opinions on this forum is a very precious commodity. Time is money, Westerners say it. I often have a feeling that if we spent time discussing development approaches that can transform this country, these fora would have been very useful. But, unfortunately, many people use them to vent anger on people that… Read more »

The road will always be winding but Northeners just get focused and achieve your desired goal just like that most intelligent, richest and cleanest Malawian ‘Tonga Boy’ Dr. Kamuzu Banda. Though born and grown amongst my fellow Kasungu homemates but he remains the best that Malawi has ever had!

Comments coming from contributors are misplaced. They do not address the issue of the Northern Block. I find it absurd to talk about who will rule for ever and who will not. That reasoning is childish and cannot take this country anywhere. The constitution allows for freedom of association for all manner of people even for northerners. Have you not seen tribes forming their cultural groups like Mlakho wa ALhomwe, Kulamba etc. Let us desist from being emotional. We should speak to the issue at hand. I want Malawi to reach a point where everyone will be considered Malawian in… Read more »

Northerners kuyabila kalekale ndikhalidwe lawo. kudzipatula kudzisankha kudzikonda. Mumudziwe Yesu. They will fight every leadership except the one that is dominated by them. Unfortunately they wont rule this country. Not in our time.

Countrymen, I don’t come from the Northern Region although I did part of my schooling in the North and at some point sat in the same classroom with Right Honorable Khumbo Kachale and we were SCOM members together while Rev. Mezuwa Banda was our Traveling Secretary. Hons Juliana Lunguzi, Chimango Mughogho etc were also our contemporaries in Secondary school. Today, I have more friends in the Northern Region than in my home region – Centre. To me, Northerners are my brothers and sisters and I just admire the academic and corporate acumen-ship that Northerners have contributed to this nation. Let’s… Read more »

Wonderful Presentation Mr. Mphempo. I’am a northerner but you have opened my eyes and i’am able to see far. My mindset towards northern region has drastically changed.
I wish you were my college lecture. God bless you abundantly.

Mr Mphepo, you are a genius. You are someone who just critically looks at facts on the ground rather than having preconceived ideas. I wonder why people hate northerners labeling them with various unpleasant adjectives. For sure, northerners are not superior to any race and no race in Malawi is superior to the other. We just need to accept that we have been blessed differently. Again, our early contacts with foreigners have helped to define zomwe mitundu yathu ikupanga. As you said, the southerners are very good in business especially the Yao due to their early contacts with Arabs who… Read more »

if we had people like of your type only 17 of them surely Malawi would be a better place than what we are today. The Issue is identify yourself with what God has given – For to every person God has given something.

How I hate presidents from the south. They are too myopic and egocentric with literally no clue of leadership. They are all like empty tins. Imagine what Malawi is going through today. Is this not enough testimony? Actually these people from the south have an inborn behaviour of getting whatever they need through crooked ways and this was also seen during the last election. Please my fellow Northerners, let us unite. Our region has the largest unexploited natural resources.
