Tough spoken and controversial coach Leo Mpulula has unveiled his plans at his new club Epac F.C where he has been offered a two year deal with the Central Region Super League outfit.
Speaking in an interview on Sunday, Mpulula said he is delighted to have joined Epac F.C a team which he described as “youthful and full of talent”.
According to the former Blantyre United mentor, his first assignment is to identify the weaknesses of the club that have hindered the club from advancing and fight for honours in the past seasons so that he rectifies the problem.
“I am always happy to work with young boys who are eager to learn and I always welcome such boys. I am happy that I am inside the house [Epac] which has talented youths and I am looking forward to yield good results” said Mpulula.
“I am looking forward to achieve good results and fight for honours including super league championship and other domestic cups. I want Epac to be a force to reckon with on the domestic scene” he added.
Asked if he will be able to build a strong side before the TNM Super League kickoff next month, Mpulula claimed the time is enough and confessed he will capitalize on lower league trophies to identify new players to sign at Epac.
“I think the time [about four weeks] to prepare is enough and will capitalize on regional competitions involving lower league to identify other talented players to beef up the squad” said Mpulula.
Mpulula however confessed that he failed to serve his former club Blantyre United from relegation due to his long time illness.
The straight forward speaking coach spent several months in and outside hospital after he diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB) but later-towards the end of last season took over the mantle at Blantyre United but it was too late to serve the club.
