Mulumbe back at Admarc as CEO
State produce trader Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc)CEO Foster Mulumbe is back in office after serving a forced leave a month ago to pave way for investigations on his involvement in the procurement of K30 billion maize from Zambia.
He is back in office two weeks after graft-busting body, the Anti-Corruption Bureau raided his office and home and confiscated a number of computers and items.
Board chairman James Masumbu said the board would meet to discuss the fate of Mulumbe.
He said the board will also discuss recommendations by the presidential commission of inquiry on maizegate to have him and other Admarc officials face disciplinary action for failing to adhere to laid down rules and procedures of procurement in the purchase of the maize.
Mulumbe has always denied any wrong doing.
The suspicious dealings in the procurement of the maize from Zambia caused an uproar and led to the sacking of Agriculture minister George Chaponda after President Peter Mutharika succumbed pressure to fire him.
Margaret Mauwa, the acting CEO has stepped aside and gone back to her office as deputy CEO.

When voting we become tribalistic but when crying we cry together. This means that we need to change our political mind set. We should not vote for a person because he/she comes from our region but we need to vote for someone who will deliver genuine services to the nation.

Who had the powers to give him the forced leave? Who again was given the powers to allow him resume his duties? Is it the same Board? When the Board says it will sit down to discuss his fate, which Board is this, the same Board which stopped him from working? What are the results of the investigations? Why don’t they decide his fate while he is still on the forced leave?
