This is the biggest irony of them all. You have a head of state standing on a podium at UNGA to lecture other leaders to prioritise investment in education and yet back home there are students (at one of the university campuses) demonstrating for having had no running water for 4 consecutive days. Talk of lack of investment in a future generation. How can students learn under such appalling conditions bwana Mutharika. Can’t you for once match your words with action on the ground. understand the issues at hand. the president recognises these problems but resource envelop is small as the global perception of leaders thinks higher education is for the elites only. it is better to recognise the problem and then see the way forward. issues of water is a minor thing which can be blamed to BWB for incompetence that is if its a the trend or its just accidental.
remember its this gathering that policies that affect clobal issues are discussed and we cant ran away from discussing

Why waste so much money when many highly educated youths of Malawi are going abroad looking for work? So many of them are even applying for asylum in South Africa, USA, UK and many other countries in the name of nepotism from APM. There is no need to spend so much money educating a doctor or nurse for another country to benefit. It is a stupid move.
