The President calls it timely. But timely would have been to do it before the bill was discussed in Parliament. The new landbill privatizes land. This is a neo liberal policy that is good for the rich and powerful, but it will crush the poor and create a class of landless poor who have no means of living whatsoever. They can only go to town and create informal settlements full of crime, misery and poverty. This landbill is not a good idea And the President? appears clueless.
