Governance expert and commentator Makhumbo Munthali has asked President Peter Mutharika to provide assurances of the State’s protection to human...
lease for once Mr president, come back with tangible and executable results. We are tired of pledges which don’t materialise at all. Bring back machines to build factories so that Malawi can manufacture the very same things we import from China. Malawi will save significant FOREX if only we are able to manufacture these things we import from China. Let Malawi be a manufacturing country of quality products which we can then export to neighbouring countries at least. The manufacturing industry will boost employment fo the youth. Eventually young Malawians will be motivated to design their own machines fit for… Read more »
I bet someone will still find something negative about this. ahahahahah Malawians are the most negative minded people in the universe
I don’t see how the incumbent can win on this issue. If the Chinese promise aid, he will be suspected of giving away national assets in exchange for that aid, i.e. mortgaging our national future for short-term, personal, political gains. On the other hand, if the Chinese shun his requests for promises of development projects, he will mark himself as being so politically inept that he cannot even manoeuver the most willing of donors into dropping a few crumbs of comfort into his hat. Either way, he will be seen as trying to solve our dependency on international aid by… Read more »
Malawians,do not be deceived by Muthalika for his promises of economic development in Malawi.Where was he all this time? Is it part of his election campaign to Malawians? Afterall,China is very well known for dealing with money-monger Presidents in the Continent of Africa. If China releases funds to an African government, make sure that the President gets a big chunk which is sent direct to his foreign Bank Account that will be known only to his wife.Since China began to deal with African leaders after independence,China has accumulated billions of dirty money from African thieves Presidents. In the Congo,China has and is still… Read more »
Hear, Hear, The Chinese, when APM stands on the podium he cheats poor Malawians that he is running the country without foreign aid. That’s why he addresses the poor masses in hisinaudible Chichewa so that those giving him the aid should not hear that he is biting the same finger that is feeding him.
Yes . . . but biting the hand that feeds you hurts only when that hand is your own.
Great time to ask more help, let the nation’s face chane
China-Africa summit or China-Malawi/DPP summit? If it’s the dormer then it doesn’t who is at State House. In any case Malawi is not a strategic partner for China because we have no natural resources for the Chinese to plunder
In clutches now.
MALAWIANS WILL BELIEVE AND VOTE FOR PETER /DPP IF HE FULFILLS THE PROMISES OF BUILDING MZUZU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND MOMBERA UNIVERSITY OTHERWISE FORGET !!
SONG don’t say malawians as a whole, say northerners, mzuzu airport and mombera are in north yet there are more unfinished projects in other areas but you don’t mention them. Selfish Tumbuka!
Chinese trying to prop up the failing government, too late. APM has no vision, he is clueless.
Even the blind can see the development, which planet 🌍 are you from. Do you know the meaning of vision. What do you mean clueless ? If he was clueless the country would have been bankrupt but the inflation is not bad. Mind you even rich nations not all are rich, have seen homeless people in street, no place to call home, yet we don’t have homeless in the country, what we have are some lazy folks who expect government to bring fish and meat on their table, dress their mothers and their wifes,. What we have are clueless individuals… Read more »
