Mvula, Gombwa to appear in court Jan 22: Malawi Police call them ‘hardcore criminals’
Malawi Police in Blantyre say four suspected ‘hardcore criminals’ blamed for three murders and car hijackings will appear in court on January 22, 2016.
Southern region police publicist James Kadadzera said the police were continuing with their investigations on Chipiliro Gombwa, Dumisani Mvula, Andy Machinjiri and Dickson Makumbe.
“We are very sure by 22 January, we will be through with the investigations because this is the day they will appear in court,” said Kadadzera.
It is expected that the ‘hardcore criminals’ will appear before a resident magistrate court which will commit them to the High Court as is mandated to hear murder cases.
Police allegedly recovered a pistol, a pump gun and 250 rounds of ammunition and are linked to the deaths of three people and seven car thefts.
A police officer responsible for armoury at Kanjedza Police Training School in Blantyre was also picked on allegations that he was supplying the arms and ammunition to the suspects.
Gombwa, 38 comes from Mwanza, Makumbe, 35 comes from Mulanje, Machinjiri, 29 comes from Ntcheu and Mvula, 23 comes from Kasungu.
They are suspected to have killed an MTL driver and an Asian businessman.

In case some people would like to know, Mvula is originally from Kanyemba village, TA Chindi in Mzimba, but is now settled in KU. However, this should be unimportant and irrelevant to the case at hand.
