History was made on September 30, as Mzati made a big leap on his music journey when he launched ‘This Is Malawi’ album at College of Medicine in Blantyre.
The album had garnered much talk on radios, newspaper and the social media, before its official launch.
“I feel great, it’s not easy to launch an album, I had a long way to go as it is my first album but by the grace of God it has happened, so I thank God for He made it possible for me to launch this album,” said Mzati speaking after the show.
During the show his fans had fun, as people danced and sang along as he performed some of his popular trucks from the album.
“I was very happy because I never thought everything would go along like that,’’ he added.
The album launch was supported with performances from artists like Sait, Wachituta, Smacks and Desire.
On the future plans he said he was planning of shooting music videos from the album.
“For now, I will give space to the album to enjoy airplay, as such we will be planning for a re-launch to take place in Lilongwe,’’ he said.
Mzati, whose real name is Alinafe Light Chiwanda, started his music journey in 2008 as a hip-hop artist, he later switched to afro Jazz, and he is signed to Abstract Records.
