The best option would be to sell the naming rights to a company. This will generate money to help maintain the stadium instead of naming it Bingu which will generate no money. I am sure that banks or phone companies would jump on this e.g TNM National Stadium

Fellow Citizens. Don’t just dismiss his account as sheer nonsense. Look at the sense he made. It is the act of that undue glorification that turns us into hell worshipers. Donations and loans are given to Malawians and not presidents. Tax to replay the loans is by Malawians. Presidents don’t pay taxes. Donors and partners don’t give us money not because we have APM. Even if APM leaves office today donors will continue giving us donations and loans. They might even be giving us more than what they give us now. Giving national structures national names instills a sense of… Read more »

This nonsense must stop! There is no reason to name such monuments the name of a man who came tothe Presidency mon the back of someone…kupanda a Chair bwenzi mkulu amene uja atalawa u President??
For sure once this Mulhako regime gets out…the stadium and the Chitipa- Karonga road will be renamed to better names.

Kkkkkkk, koma abalee, National Stadium Of Malawi!!!!
And you call yourself a very smart dude by this redundant English of yours!!
Man, besides your hearted towards the people behind the names, you seem to be the most illiterate of all Malawians. I would advise you to just post your articles in Chichewa, otherwise, NATINAL STADIUM OF MALAWI is a total goof…

I thing you know very well that Bingu stadium is not the only facility in the world to be named after someone’s name. We have Chipembere Highway, Queen Elizabeth hospital, Paul Kagame road, Kamuzu Acadamey and other facilities all over the world named after individuals like Nelson Mandera and others. Kodi akulu mwangodana ndi a Muntharikawo kapena ndale zakusongonezani bongo?
