National Bank made a profit of K 12,824,000,000 before tax in only the first-half of 2018.

That’s almost 13 *billion* kwacha. Profit. In six months.

Profit made by all of us working-class Malawians paying ridiculous bank charges and interest rates.

Total directors’ renumaration and bonuses for the six months was K 2,616,000,000

That’s almost 3 *billion* kwacha. To staff for increasing the profit of the bank.

‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ indeed.

School desks worth 6 million. Profits and salaries in the *billions*

Wake up Malawians.

What matters is not the value of the donation but the heart behind it. Congratulations NBM and Mr CEO.

#Sikusinja is on point, can’t agree more. And if you do simple arithmetic, what this means is that a desk was costing K39,473.68. Are we sure we should be buying bench y thabwa yolumikiza ndi zitsuro at that price? Nde Boma adzaligukitsa pa 100 pin !!!!

We need to stop being so petty. This is the same as what we criticize APM for doing opening a mere road or putting a foundation stone. Maybe if you had built a whole school I would understand. But I am going to Zomba to donate 152 desks. Lord have mercy on us. Doesn’t National Bank have a Branch Manager in Zomba… Read more »
