Finally, sanity could prevail in the profession….all non procurement professionals should exit their positions because they do not know any ethics regulating such a profession hence damning the good name of this profession by demanding bribes for doing their work!!! Sad

The problem is not lack of law but of ethics. This problem arises from employing unqualified people – for example, hiring a chief accountant or financial controller who is not qualified and does not really appreciate what the position entails. Such unqualified people have nothing to lose if they get their papers revoked and are banned from practising because of violating ethical principles of the prefession. There is no integrity at all. Look at people who stole money – they were not qualified to serve in those positions. My argument is that as long as we keep employing undserving people… Read more »

This is just a waste of time, trying to hood-wink Malawians into thinking that they government is doing something about their thieving. It’s very sad to see these big kahunas stealing and then inventing new methods to steal from us all living in Malawi. Inventing such things like the new finger-printing car fitness registration — what the F*K. Now they are talking about Toll fees, really? How can a group of greedy thugs take our country to the wrong direction. How can we just sit, where there is no medicines, no water, no electricity, businesses being abused by so many… Read more »

You can regulate as many professions as you want but if there is no accountability. Integrity, and honesty all theses will just be in paper. Talk about mindset change in parliament, talk about leaving a better country for our children and children’s children, talk about doing the right thing for the whole nation, talk about every citizen knowing that they own this country..otherwise as was argued by Mr Kusamba Dzonzi this will be just a waste for there’s is a lot of inhumane behaviour from our politicians kuba too much’!

Time wasting, who brought in the idea of ODPP? When the plundering of gvt resources were taking place, why is it the Financial Inteligent Unit was quiet? What was the office of the Accountant General doing? What was the office of the Auditer General doing? What is the raw of the Commercial Banks? What about the Reserve Bank? Alot of institutions in Malawi are there for nothing they dont even follow the required regulations. Since Parliament is the MPs bank, spend the time there and make your money

Good move by Government. Need to further entrench procurement as a career in the public service as well. Kudos!
