Newly married Ben Phiri and Twamie ‘happiest couple’
Twamie Chimungu was ecstatic on Saturday after a blessed wedding with Dr Ben Phiri, formerly special aide to President Peter Mutharika, and described her wedding to the political strategist as “absolutely wonderful”.
The couple were formally married on Saturday in ceremony of a full white wedding, exchanging matrimonial vows before Apostle Madalitso Mbewe of Calvary Family Church.
In blessing the marriage, Apostle Mbewe pointed out that the essence of marriage is the mutual agreement between a man and a woman for a lifelong union, voluntarily assumed, and publicly acknowledged.
Both Ben and Twamie Phiri vowed to love and comfort each other, honor and keep each other, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, to be faithful till death do them apart.
“Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder,” prayed Apostle Mbewe to bless the marriage.
The couple got engaged last month in a private ceremony.
Phiri, said he was “happiest man in world” to marry Twamie.
The couple all looked gorgeous together in white attire during matrimonial vows, Ben spotting an ivory and gold Chinese suit while Twamie in a spectacular white wedding dress.
Then they also nailed it in all blue and gold attire after officially tying the knot at a reception – with all the bling.
The smiling couple danced their way happily together and well coordinated.
There were many notable people in the society amongst the guests at the reception who included government officials and members from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
