Blantyre Police Public Relations Officer, Elizabeth Divala told Nyasa Times they are currently hunting for the unknown criminals who were armed with pistols.

“They (criminals) in Toyota Corolla tailed the Malawi Sun hotel vehicle in which the employees- a driver and accountant- were traveling in. They blocked the vehicle, threatened the two with pistols before making away with the cash,” explained Divala.

The robbery incident is one of the cases to have rocked the country lately, and in most instances Malawians take the law into their own hands by scorching to death the suspected muggers.
