North Malawi journos usher in new office bearers for Nyika Media Club

Nyika Media Club, a grouping of journaists in the northern region, has elected new office bearers to steer the organisation for the next two years.

During the elections that took place Saturday at Voice of Livingstonia (VOL) Radio boardroom, the journalists  elected Joseph Mwale of Nation Publications Limited as its chairperson replacing Mandy Pondani, of Times Media Group.

Tione Luwanga of Rainbow Television was elected deputy chairperson, Pledge Jali of NPL as secretary general and is deputised by Joachim Nthala of the Voice of Livingstonia (VOL), Alex Banda of Zodiak is now the Nyika Media Club projects officer, while MBC’s McDonald Malema is the club’s treasurer general.

The committee members include George Chitaya, Dennis Nliwasa and Francisco Mwaza.

In his acceptance speech, Mwale who beat Elton Mhango, a correspondent for Nation, pledged to work together with the rest of the club members for the club to achieve financial stability.

He said the new committee would market the club so that it becomes attractive to the cooperate world and also grow its membership base.
