Tiyese James was given High Court bail on July 1 this month for alleged robbery, arson and terrorising the community.

Lilongwe Police publicist, Kingsley Dandaula, confirmed the arrest of Tiyese James, 22, of Kaondo Village, T/A Tsabango in Lilongwe.

“He was arrested this morning when he wanted to report to the High Court as one of the conditions for his bail,” Dandaula said.

“ The community in Area 36 reported to us that the gang is still causing havoc in the area by beating up people, snatching cash from people, setting fire to people’s houses and robbing them,” Dandaula told Lilongwe News Agency.

It is said that if anybody refused to bow down to their demands, the gang high jacked their cars.

However, Dandaula said the police is assuring the general public, especially Area 36 residents, not to live in fear as police in doing everything possible to safeguard the general public.

According to police, Area 36 was in bad records with over 18 gangs like Sekaunye, Pink Girls, Zikwanje Crew, Soft Boys, Bad Boys, and Madala Gurus.
