you haven’t talked about who should lead the coalition, i guess that will be the problem because everyone believes that Malawi will change in his hands therefore they must be a leader, ie both Chilima and Chakwera

May be the question we should be asking ourselves is why did Chilima decided to start his own party,UTM and printed his face on party clothing when he knew very well that there was already a biggest opposition party,MCP? The answer is that he wants to be the president not the vice president of Malawi because he feels that he has now gained enough experience to govern Malawi. Now if we talk about coalition,it works very well when the parties involved agree on a common understanding and that understanding should also benefit Malawians. MCP under Chakwera has been talking about… Read more »

Reduce the number of parties to two or three at the most. This will result in a meaningful political discourse. Some of these parties only resurrect during election periods hoping that a miracle would happen and strike gold. They have no proper agenda. How many political ideologies exist? As many as the number political ideologies exist so should be the number of parties in Malawi. I wish during party registration, the registrar of political parties would be scrutinizing more on political ideology rather than the name of the party. Our political system would be streamlined and choosing a party to… Read more »

Politics is very complex my friend. for Chilima to understand systems of government, how they work, who does that, and why, it would not take 2 or even 3 years to be in the system. He supposed to keep silent up until when he knew and fully understand those systems so as he may have solid evidence. However, if he was to say the time he just knew, DDP could have been in apposition to defend and him could lose the case. On the other hand, J B stayed in the same government but she came out saying nothing, hence… Read more »

If APM is all that bad why do you need a coalition to remove him? It simply means the competition will be amongst other parties except DPP. So no need for coalition since APM is already out. Why are you joining to fight someone who is not wanted by everyone?

He steals elections. he has that history and we fear he will do the same. By joining forces the other parties will be thwarting the rigging effect

Ntata, when Absalom rebelled against his father David, he had people like you who supported Absalom, thinking he will take over from David his father, who was a man after God’s heart. Any nations where people rebel against government or plan to dispose those in power, there are many who follow them. God will not entertain evil thoughts. You can form alliance but there is no honest in it. All the people have egos which they cannot accept an alliance. Come next year, you will be writing the same.

Chilima did not rebel. Peter and DPP anataya chipangano. what was agreed 2014 needed to be respected. In the absence of that respect Chilima has all the reasons to decide to contest on his own ticket. After all it was already clear he would not even be picked for the running mate position in the DPP
