Launching the manifesto at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe after his two challengers  Wilkins Mijiga and Willie Yabwanya Phiri  has already unveiled their electoral pledge, justified his bid to run again as president of FAM after 12 years stint , saying  he has already laid the foundation to transform the game of football.

“I am not starting afresh, but continuing from the ground work we already laid down,” he said.

“As a former footballer, my passion is undoubted. Let common sense prevail and vote for me,” said Nyamilandu.

He said in the new mandate he will focus on commercialisation of the game by maximising broadcasting rights, robust gate management system, low cost replica jersey and optimising of revenue from existing facilities.

Nyamilandu said discussion are at “advanced level” to sell broadcasting rights to local media houses on radio and television to cover local and international games.

He said money realised from broadcasting rights “will be equally shared by all stakeholders.”

Nyamilandu said FAM will launch a fully equipped Mpira Broadcasting Studio as part of commercialisation , saying FAM is procuring outside broadcasting vans and HD digital camera for broadcasting venture to ensure clubs benefit and run professionally.

He said FAM will ensure turning Malawi’s flagship Super league into a professional entity and hinted on increasing gate enter fee for the league games to K1,500.

Nyamilandu also said he will ensure player welfare is improved, saying he will create a Player’s Welfare Fund, national Savings token, Savings and Credit Cooperative and Education and Vocation.

I wonder how one can lay a foundation of development of soccer for twelve years! Mr Nyamirandu has been at the helm of the soccer governing body for a long time and this time he says he was laying a foundation.

If I were to be one of the Voters, I would cast my ballot against him and try other peoples minds.
