Nyasa Bullets beat Red Lions, Mzuni win: Malawi TNM Super League
Muhammad Sulumba grabbed a goal for Nyasa Big Bullets in their 2-1 win against Red Lions on Sunday at Balaka Stadium to collect their first 3 points of the 2016/17 TNM Super League season and his remarkable performance will give justifiable cause for the kind optimism that Bullets has placed on him to help them defend the title.
Sulumba was signed form rivals Mighty Be Foward Wanderers but kick-started the league campaign with Bullets in their goalless draw against Moyale Barracks which he was culprit for missing a penalty.
On Sunday, he was superbly in form and registered his name in the score sheet 10 minutes into the game when he zipped a cracking shot.
Lions produced a determined response and equalised through former Blue Eagles strikers Loti Chawinga.
However, the People’s Team looked more determined to defend the title and through Nikiza Aimable, they scored on 39 minutes.
First half Bullets 2 Red Lions 1.
Both teams were guilty of constantly squandering possession in a low-key start to the second period, with Bullets always looking more likely to extend their advantage.
Elsewhere, Kamuzu Barracks FC had a bad trip up north when they lost all their weekend fixtures making their trip back to Lilongwe miserable.
