I am extremely saddened by the appetite for corruptions by our politicians. What baffles me most now the government is saying they suspected foul play in issuance of these licences but alas nobody is acting by making arrest of those people suspected where is ACB here why is ACB pretending they are not reading these issues? Are we Malawians that stupid indeed not holding the wrong doers accountable? What kind of people are we ? This passiveness must surely stop. We can do government reforms but if there will be zero accountability then please just stop those reforms. It really… Read more »

The stupid people were those that issued the licences in 2013. They never investigated deeper to find that there was collusion by these companies.
That’s the problem when Technocrats are not not involved thus I mean procurement gurus. They could have used a global tool to check on these companies and their profiles and Directors could have been exposed.
Stupid politicians!

It is premature to talk about an ‘Oil Curse’ in #Malawi as we have not even started drilling but what we are seeing is major #corruption at play which will damage our country. Are they that important that they can choose to attend meetings by called by government at their own time and place? Tell them to go to hell and invite other companies. These are not the only companies who do such type of work. Who needs who here? Let’s be serious people – these are our resources and our lake.

You dpp guys, you have to talk to each other and resolve this. Corruption is written all over the place. Why should these guys talk to you juniors when they made their deals with apm and his prime minister?

This is unacceptable, they have to follow proper channels of communication.
