The infamous youth gangs which used to terrorise residents of Area 36 in Lilongwe will be fought to the last...
Technocrats. No matter what standard you claim to use, radionuclides and heavy metals will still not dissolve in water and will remain there period.dumping these in water usable by human beings and aquatic life still is dangerous. No activity of this nature has bin carried out worldwide. Give me an example where such toxic waste was thrown into a river even after treating it.
Its a pity kuti our journalists know so little about Uranium mining, Radiation exposure and waste water treatment hence mmafatsa kumalemba this nonsense kumapanga mislead Malawians! Do u really think the who minister and his band wagon of technocrats made a mistake by granting the discharge licence? Dzuka Malawi do some research for Gods sake before believing everything you read in the paper let alone Nyasatimes….
Let a brave man get a gun and fixed this descendant British convict
No offence, but generally Alomwe are destructive. Kuononga chilengedwe too much. Tanje palimakobidi?
What benefit is kayerekera and kaziwiziwi to the local people ???
This whole mining thing in Malawi sucks as it benefits a few politically connected individuals to line up their pockets. It’s all stupid bingu’s fault to sign a raw deal with these stupid whites which ended up sponsoring dpp and now it is coming a liability to the people of karonga. Those in the know how school us if there can be a reverse in the dubious agreement that happened between bingu and these white devils. There is a long term consequence of dumping these toxic waste into lake Malawi than what we may suppose. We can have 20 mines… Read more »
Karonga just recently started mining uranium as compared to many places in the world which have been mining uranium for many years, along with its associated health and environmental risks to people. So development sometimes comes with its own risks otherwise we will never develop. Karonga is doing better than most districts and that mine has a played some part to this. Scaremongering investors is no good for Malawi, karonga and development which we all want. Yes uranium leakage is dangerous but have we seen fish in sere and rukuru rivers dying enmasse? Iam not saying you should now go and collect… Read more »
Bigman you must be stupid.Go to Karonga and see yourself. If paladin is not dumping toxic waste into rivers. You go to Kayelekera and witness yourself.Afterall the govt gave them an ok to do that. Some office us have even pictures of the discharge point where this waste went into the sere river. You are just talking nonsense with no evidence, a Malawian who doesn’t wish others well.I pity you idiot.
The people who comment with name calling, like this can fairly be described as intellectually bankrupt. BigMan was respectful in his posting; and so should you. Just agree to disagree with RESPECT.
Moreover, the question is not whether there is radioactive material in the mentioned waters. Rather, the measured amount. And how toxic, as per international standards. Not just accusatory statements. This is Big Science, achimwene.
Paladin will either cripple or kill you all!! Chikhalirecho mapwevupwevu are happening at New State House!! These guys are thieves to the word and are in Malawi to do just that!! Never be cheated they’ve halted activities! Thus a total lie!! These people have dug and piled enough for processing for close to 5 years. While they are not digging more materials for processing they are continuing with processing the already dug material and Government knows it and are benefiting!!
Malawians are living like orphans in their own country!!
