Police hunt for K2.5mil FDH Bank robbers

Malawi Police in Mzuzu are hunting for robbers who broke into FDH Bank and stole money amounting to K2.5 million from ATM on the wee hours of Monday.

Bank robbery

Rumphi Police station officer Charles Mpezeni said the thieves broke computers, poured water on computers to destroy their traces.

“They seized the watchman and tied him up,” Mpezeni said.

He said the thieves broke the ATM where they stole the money.

Officials from FDH Bank are yet to comment on the matter.

This is the second incident in the north of bank breaking after thieves broke into Standard Bank last year in Mzuzu and stole K100 million.
