PP holds Orange get-together in Manchester

Malawi’s de facto ruling People’s Party (PP) of President Joyce Banda will launch its PP UK Wing at an ‘Orange Get Together’ in Manchester on Saturday, 5th May.

According to a statement made available to Nyasa Times by the PP UK Wing  interim executive committee , the d official launch of PP UK will start from 5:30PM to 9PM at the Pakistani Community Centre, 612a Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester, M13 0RQ (next to Longsight ASDA).

The interim Secretary General of the PP UK wing, Batson Divala, told Nyasa Times that the party is welcoming all Malawians to the meeting and encourages them to wear orange colour.

One of the aims of the  PP UK Wing is to offer Malawians in the Diaspora an opportunity to discuss issues affecting Malawi and also give constructive ideas that will be forwarded to PP Malawi as part of the recently launched ‘Tiuzeni Campaign’.

The Interim Chairman of PP UK, Hannington Gondwe, stressed that Malawians in the Diaspora have a vital role in contributing to the development of their country.

“After the meeting, there will be a Get Together in central Manchester (Piccadilly Gardens) at Q Bar, 14 Newton Street, Manchester, M1 2AF from 9PM to 4AM. Everyone attending the meeting will enter for free before 10PM and others will have to pay £3 before midnight (more after),” said the interim deputy chairman Chipililo Mpinganjira.

The PP UK Wing has been in operation since last September but it had not been launched.
