President Prof. Peter Mutharika Thursday hailed the Chinese Government for the financial assistance that has seen the country registering some economic growth.
Speaking at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe during China-Africa Relations 60th Anniversary, He said since the establishment of the structural and bilateral relationship between the two countries, Malawi has received tremendous support from the Chinese Government.
“China has been assisting the country in number of areas, we have learned from China to grow economically independent by training the youths in technically aspects,” said Mutharika.
He further said China has become the important of Africa because of its bilateral relations with African countries.
“Malawi is celebrating 9th anniversary with China and this is bearing fruits in the developing of the country economically,” the President said.
In his remarks Chinese ambassador to Malawi Wang Shi-Ting said China is committed to support African countries in development.
“If China is determined to take the relation corporation to another level and if China and Africa continue to together it will take the world to another level,” said the ambassador.
The event was spiced up with cultural performance from Chinese, Shaolin martial arts and acrobatics and from Malawi malipenga and Likwata dance.
