An excellent review of the President’s address to the nation, but very depressing. The DPP government is a case of ‘the blind leading the blind’. Being a Professor of Law doesn’t automatically qualify a person to lead a country. APM did not ‘win’ the election in 2014 to benefit Malawi, but only to benefit himself and his family and supporters. Not only does be not know how to sort out the country’s problems, he couldn’t care less about them, or he would appoint people who are able to sort them out. APM is not man enough. He is afraid to deal with the corrupt people. If I were him I would have done something on the seven rotten ministers. I would have dealt with the many cases that have dented the image of DPP. I have a feeling that its easy to turn things around in this tiny country. However it requires political will. It requires putting national interest above personal and party interests. Thom, this president is an empty tin. He can’t be blaming others when he has indeed to move on. What puzzles me most is that he has some of the biggest brains like Collins Magalasi as assistants but he can’t fully utilize them to perform . He must learn to be humble and listen to advice
