Rain comes to Malawi after Muslim prayers

Malawians Muslims are attributing the coming of the rains to the prayers they have been holding for the past three days asking God to open the downpour to this southern African country which relies on rain-fed agriculture.

Until Tuesday night Malawi especially in the southern region has been experiencing dry spell although weather history show that the region always becomes the first in the country to register rainfall.

This forced Islamic Theologians Majilis Ulama on Sunday to ask Muslims to hold three-day special prayers for the rains.

An official of Majilis Ulama Sheikh Dinala Chabulika told a malawimuslims.com website that Prophet Muhammad  (May peace be upon him) asked Muslims to observe a certain prayer when they  see there is no any sign of rain.

“So, we asked everyone to do that after each obligatory prayer before we have a main function on Thursday. However, fortunately, Allah has answered our prayers even before the main prayer event,” said Chabulika.

Malawi President Peter Mutharika also asked various denominations to hold national players for the rains from this Friday.

I am Muslim, but I do not subscribe to this kind of solicitation for cheap publicity my Learned brother in the faith Chabulika is doing. I am sure that his seeking public attention through this issue is not sanctioned by the teaching of the faith at all. There are so many problems the country is facing, which are still with us to day. Does he want to tell people that Muslims have not been praying for their removal only that God has not been answering their prayers? Or they have not been praying over them at all? I am sure… Read more »

Prayers are supposed to be offered to GOD direct NOT through HIS Prophets like others do. this is due to “umbuli” these people have. Thanks GOD that you have answered prayers of MUSLIMS. Kunyoza sikungakuthandizeni

Your God not our God. I doubt if he can send rain. A God who s no regard for life. A God who command s his followers to kill their enemies is not my God.A God full of vengeance intolerant is not our God.A god whose followers castigate our Lord Jesus Christ openly yet believe He is a Prophet is not the same God who taught Love to our enemies. Jesus is ridiculed on their crusades, radios etc. I choose to differ.

Jesus is Lord.We believe He is the son of God. Died for our sins and rose again. We believe He will come back again to judge the world if Moslems don’t believe that they should teach their followers to respect other peoples faiths. When ever they have an Audience they should preach about wot they believe and stop castigating other peoples beliefs.

Where should I start? Respect to other faiths please preach this to everyone commenting blah blah blah up in here. We believe Jesus or EIsa son of Marium or Mary shall come back to earth to rule justly and peacefully. I hope we both agree on that where the story changes is on crucification. But let’s leave that aside. You don’t see the Jews being castigated because they believe Jesus hasn’t even appeared on earth but hey no we ccant say the Jews are wrong can we? Only the Muslims are wrong? Okay now regarding the almighty and merciful God… Read more »

He came to his own and his own received him not. The Jews rejection worked to the advantage of the gentiles. If u r not a Christian why spend time on a topic u do not understand. The crucification is central to God s plan of salvation. It was an atonement for the sins of the world. Jesus paid the price for the sins of the whole world. The blood he shed their reconciled sinful man to his creator. His plan now is for the whole world not only the Jews. So u can see that He came even for… Read more »

Wakufa ndi wamoyo ndisankha wamoyo. He said I’m the truth and the life. Noone comes to the father except through me. Jesus lives other prophets died JESUS CHRIST LIVES. Choose the dead we choose a living Prophet. He is reigning today.
