Red Lions ends central region tour empty handed
Red Lions F.C concluded their central region tour empty handed after losing all the two assignments they had over the weekend in TNM Super League.
The Zomba based soldiers were hammered 4-1 by Civo Service United on Saturday at Civo Stadium before been narrowly whacked again by Kamuzu Barracks 1-0 at the Dedza Stadium on Sunday.
On Saturday, Vincent Nyangulu scored a hat trick for the Civil Servants while Charles Chilembo netted the other goal.
The soldier’s consolation goal was scored by Lottie Chabinga.
Whilst on Sunday, Manaseh Chiyesa’s loan goal was enough to hand struggling Kamuzu Barracks the much needed three points.
Commenting on the disastrous weekend, Red Lions Coach Collings Nkuna said despite his tems underperformances, the referees also contributed to their misery.
“We expected to collect maximum points but we were very disappointed with officiation. The officiation isn’t that good in the central region and we are worried because most of our remaining games are in the central region” said Nkuna.
The referee issue took centre stage over the weekend as Moyale Barracks coach Nicolus Mhango also complained on the same.
Mhango claimed his team was denied a clear goal which was scored by Deus Nkutu after he capitalised on a poor back pass by Francis Mlimbika for the nomads but it was ruled out for an offside.
The game however ended 1-1.
Bottom placed Chikwawa United also had their misery continuing as they were massacred by Silver Striker 4-0 on Saturday and Epac F.C 2-1 on Sunday respectively.
