Once upon a time while at Chanco we were made to believe that you have not studied English Literature if you had not studied Shakespeare. This was irrespective of the fact that you would do English literature from Chaucer to 20th Century, The European Novel and English Poetry from the Elizabethan Period through the age of Enlightenment to the 20th Century. This is rather an advert that he has posted to most online news houses globally. He is rather using his fame to advertise the celebration of Shakespeare free of charge while poor journalists will be celebrating to have featured an article from one of the world’s figures. Much as we know Shakespeare’s contribution to English literature, in Malawi we have our own who have contributed highly to Chichewa Literature in the likes of Okomaatani Malunga,Steve Chimombo and many more.
