Silver sack technical panel, ropes in Chimodzi
Silver Strikers have fired their entire coaching panel led by head coach Franco Ndawa following the team’s feeble defense of the TNM Super League title they won exactly one year ago.
Fired alongside Ndawa were assistant coaches Hellings Mwakasungura, Subisiso Padambo and Itaye Nundwe.
“The coach and his backroom staff have been relieved of their duties,” an official of Silver told Nyasa Times.
Silver Strikers general secretary Mike Tembo said despite everyone’s best efforts, the club has failed to achieve its stated targets in the title defence campaign.

He confirmed fevered speculation that they the banker’s former coach Young Chimodzi was being lined up as a replacement for Ndawa but and said no agreement had been reached.
“What I can confirm to you is that our different stakeholders made a proposal to the executive to rope in Young but the matter is still being discussed and when its finalized we will let you know,” said Tembo.
The Bankers kicked-off the 2012-2013 Soccer seasons on a low note as they managed to register four victories, four draws and three losses having played 11 games.
They have so far amassed 16 points.
Ndawa was sacked at Wanderers but led Silver to the league silverware last season.
While Chimodzi, a legend with Silver is expected to be joined on the coaching panel by Stain Chirwa and Lovemore Fazili.
