Silver tip Bullets to win Malawi TNM Super League

TNM Super League defending champions Silver Strikers have tipped league leaders Big Bullets to win the title as the seasons draws to an end.

Stain Chirwa: The title is for Bullets to lose

Silver Strikers coach Stain Chirwa said Bullets had an advantage considering that they have opened a six-point gap to title rivals Moyale Barracks and Blue Eagles.

Chirwa said although the pressure would be on Bullets any team including Moyale and Blue Eagles could also be in the same situation.

“I don’t think Bullets can lose the title. The title is for them to lose because they are in top form and have an advantage in that all their remaining games will be played at home,” Chirwa said.

He also said Bullets were better team this season by being consistent.

“Bullets have been one of the best teams this year and I think they deserve to win,” he continued.

But he bemoaned Silver’s forfeiture of nine points as punishment for causing violence which claimed Mighty Wanderers fan’s life last season to have contributed to their failure to defend the title.

“At the end of the season we will see by how many points would  the champions win the title if the difference would be less than deducted points then we will happily say we are the legitimate champions,” he said.

But Bullets Burundian technical expert Nsazwarwimo Ramadhan downplayed Silver’s stand on the position.

“It’s still a long way to go. Anything can happen in a game of football but we will fight hard to win the remaining the games and win the title,” Ramadhan said.

“If we had won against Kamuzu Barracks the story would have been different but that loss showed that we should treat each game cautiously,” he said.

Bullets have three games against Azam Tigers, Blantyre United and Moyale Barracks to wrap up the campaign.
