Why would the state not investigate the MK0.5B from various companies if it was lawfully earned by among other things asking for tax-returns on it? As President all the gifts he gets are property of the state! Sometimes you wonder what kind of law our lawyers studied and practice!
Whilst he may never be found guilty (legally), the very act of receiving donations in the name of state president; for personal benefit, is morally despicable and deplorable. M uluzi would have been ridiculed heavily if it were in the West. An opposition shadow minister in Australia was forced to resign from the front bench (shadow ministry) for receiving a Usd1000 donation despite declaring the same and having broken no law. If Muluzi is not guilty then let every cashgater be set free. Because its just not fair. This payback money between muntharikas and muluzis is not a fair game to all Malawians. Let’s forgive everyone..all prisoners be set free and start a new Malawi..then you will see the hand of the Lord. Everyone knows that he used the money to campaign for bingu..but it was our money. MCP are just stupid and ill organised. They have a huge support from journalists as well some of us here wanting to follow them. Besides they have the Daily Times newspaper of their own!
