My feeling has always been that the college was closed prematurely. I wish dialogue was given a chance in this matter. All sides are losers in this matter. By way of reminder this is the only institution that offers degrees in engineering, architecture, quantity surveying etc. Do we as a country want to remain backward, undeveloped and poverty stricken forever?????? How long will the Malawian society remain uneducated?????

It just shows that Polytechnic or University students do not get it: their unreasonable and violent conduct has consequences. They cannot be the first to be protesting violently and the first to cry for the university to be opened. Had they contemplated the consequences of their unreasonable actions, they would be the first to refrain from the unruly behaviour that they are engaged in regularly, especially at the Poly.
University Officials, please take your time and do not be bullied into reopening by your unruly students. Look into the issues and take your time. Let them learn lessons first.
