The writer is not only weak in research methodology and data analysis, but has shown extreme low thinking capacity in several ways: 1.He doesnt even know that Chilima resigned from DPP some 3 weeks ago. 2.He truly believes that in a democratic world the President and Vice President should belong to one party. 3. As an extension of point 2 above, he links ignorantly links resignation and financila rewards. He doesnt appreciate that the it is the title of VP that will help the VP campaign easily. 4.Completely fails to present a balanced argument. RECOMMENDATION: Nyasatimes is a very respected Online… Read more »

Kudos to both of you the writer and comment above, it’s greed making our VP not resigning otherwise any sane person who has the economy of the country at heart (drawing free salary) and is 100% sure of winning can not stick around a dying thief if the intention is not to rob it it’s treasure after breathing it’s last. Listening to his militancy Julius Malema like speech one gets the impression munthu waponda mwala and is very sure once he throws it (the corruption deals) there will be a public revolt to force the president out of power even… Read more »

This writer has done a good job. Resign from government Mr Chilima. Also I expected SKC to correct what he said was wrong with DPP that is the party being owned by some individuals, by saying something on the party’s convention where anybody will be free to contest for any position in the party. SKC has put himself on the ballot before a convention and this means he owns the party when he shouldn’t. I for one am already ready to wrestle with him for the top post of UTM and I wish myself good luck.

Great analysis Sibande. Chilima’s approach is wrong and immoral. Though he hit some notes in his speech, he needs to resign as VP and officially leave the DPP. In fact, what he said was not new and he is surrounded by corrupt people.

The writer of this article is so naive , he thinks Malawians can be fooled with useless retorics like the ones in the column.
We should give credit where it deserves. The Speech by Chilima can be compared with the ones you are depicting.
Learn to appreciate guys where someone has delivered!!

I this Lyson Sibande s made. Chilima announced his resignation from DPP during his first public appearance some months ago, what kind of resignation do you want? The way you started off your article I thought I thought you were making brilliant analysis, but you completely got lost and your conclusion is miserable – it doesn’t make sense at all.
