In the first incident, A 31-year-old businessman, White Steven was arrested after he was caught by his wife while defiling a 14-year-old girl with mental problems in his shop.

Steven, who owns a grocery shop at Malembo Tradong Centre in Kasiya , allegedly defiled an intellectual disabled girl on 11th September, 2015.

National police Public Relations Officer, Rhoda Manjolo told Nyasa Times currently the victim is two months pregnant.

”On this day, the victim had gone to the suspect’s grocery to buy some stuff, and the suspect grabbed her and started defiling her; it was when his wife caught him,” explained Manjolo.

”The suspect has been staying with the girl since the death of her parents in 2007. He started defiling her from 2013 up to the extent that the victim is pregnant,” said Manjolo.

Manjolo disclosed that the issue was made known after the suspect started threatening the victim to name another man for the pregnancy.

Seems everyone is avoiding to ask the tough question: in the face of risk of fistula, possible death during delivery and the unwanted pregnancy, would abortion at two months pregnancy be an option for these girls? Anti abortion activists I need your honest answers.
