We once presented fixed desktop phones using GSM cards to TNM. These phone have inbuilt alarm systems that can report up to 10 numbers or switchboards through preprogrammed numbers automatically. One can even remotely log into the phones and see who has been phoning. And this can be done through an internet connection. Police Hqs can easily monitoring how these police are responding to 990 service. But you know what TNM turned these phones down and I am surprised they give mere handsets to the police? “Police geared to crackdown on corruption”, please give us a break. Which corruption and which police. The police themselves must first have clean hands before we can go anywhere near a grain of trust that they will crackdown on corruption. I suggest: 1. Raise their wages to deter them from being corrupt themselves 2. Equip them sufficiently in all aspects (vehicles, guns, surveillance equipment, communication equipment etc) 3. Also stop using highway ambulance and highway patrol vehicles for speed camera work in town
