Tsabango CDSS alumni to fundraise for paralyzed sisters treatment in India: Target K3 million

Tsabango Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) alumni in Lilongwe have embarked on a fundraising campaign of K3 million to help two sisters, Ivy and Gladys Frank who are paralyzed and need special treatment in India.

The two have no proper shelter, food and nobody to look after them except a 13 years old son to Ivy whose presence bring solace on their faces even though he is too young to be a guardian.

According to Ivy, the two were paralyzed after a long illness of various ailments.

Speaking after handing over K100 000 cash and some items to the two, Tsabango CDSS Alumni President Adrian Kambwiri said the group expects to raise funds for their treatment in India within a month.

“They are in bad condition and we need to do something as soon as possible. We can’t sit down and watch our friends who were once our classmates living in such condition. It is our hope that after a month or even before a month they should be in India receiving treatment,” she said.

Kambwiri said the funds will come from members contributions and also from other well wishers.

She said those willing to assist should contact the group’s treasure Humphrey Murray of HK Murray Transport on +265 999 933 258 and +265 888 488 890 or through email to [email protected].

Kambwiri said CDSS Alumni started in January this year with the aim of assisting its members in time of need and helping the school when the need rises.

“So far we want to renovate the classes which are in bad shape, build a fence around the school, toilets and buy desks,” she said.

The alumni meet monthly on Sunday of the second week at Crossroads hotel.
