UK-based Air Malawi Cargo donates to floods victims

Malawi’s flagship air cargo carrier, Air Malawi Cargo UK office has donated funds to people in Malawi affected by the devastating floods that hit the Southern African country more than a week ago.

Air Cargo UK country director Steve Msamala has donated £200 to Malawi Association UK (MAUK) an umbrella body for all Malawians in the UK amid their leading involvement in organising a fundraising event in Nottingham this Saturday at Hyson Green Youth Club situated behind Hyson Green ASDA and is along Terrence Street, NG7 6ER.

This means that the money that Air Malawi Cargo has donated to MAUK will be doubled to more than £400 as per the arrangement that Malawi Association UK has made with the British government that every pound raised Her Majesty’s government will double it.

MAUK General Secretary Stepson Mbewe commended Air Malawi Cargo and especially Msamala for the assistance and  asked “ other companies and business captains and entrepreneurs to come forward and support us.”

Msamala Air Malawi Cargo as a Malawian company has a corporate social responsibility in needy times like these.

“As a Malawian company owned by Malawians, our priority is none other than serve the interests of our people who are the owners of the company. We will always strive to help no matter how little where there is need to do so regardless of our business climate,” he said.
